James Custom Cycle started out in 1997 in a one bay shop in Wilkes-Barre, PA. I opened it as a full time custom motorcycle shop, as it still is today. We saw the need for a true custom Harley shop. After doing some minor work for local Harley owners, we quickly realized the bolting on wheels and pipes wasn't even close to the type of bikes we thought were cool. Since then, we have progressed into a full service custom motorcycle shop. We now have a service area, full showroom and fabrication shop equipped with a power hammer, pull max, 2 planishing hammers, tube bender, and a wide assortment of metal shaping tools. We also have in-house machining capabilities. We are also equipped with Millen Mig and TIG welding machines
We have had so many bike features in Hot Bike, Easy Riders, Street Chopper, Iron Works etc. Working on everything from pro street cars, show trucks and motorcycles to doing custom work on all types. Check out the September 2007 issue of American Cycle for a feature article on James Custom Cycle and their build “ MY WAY” featured above.
We make alot of our own parts now. I am really concentrating on making parts for builders, as well as the home builder such as our billet mid mount foot controls, billet kickstands with internal hidden mechanism, billet battery boxes for rigids as well as softails. We have a line of parts that can be found on my parts web site.http://www.jamescustomcycleparts.com.we still build our customs on a order only basis, what I mean is we will build the bike after we get a deposit. We don’t build bikes and let them sit in our showroom. We also have a full service side now. My employee Brett Degood is a 2 time all Harley drag racer champion. He takes care of the service end as well as engine builds now which takes the pressure off me, so I can concentrate on my builds. My approach to bike builds is exactly what I have been about from the beginning.
