In the past 18 years they have gone from a local customizing and performance shop to nationally known custom motorcycle builders. They started with 4 basic models and now offer 26 base models in custom built form and 24 models in their custom unassembled kit line. Unlike all of the other licensed manufacturers they actually custom build each bike to the customer’s specs. Each client can decide on the full line of specs from frame specs to motor style and size, wheel styles, sheet metal, bars, front forks, all the way to what grips and mirrors are used on their custom bike. They do the same thing for their unassembled kit line. They don’t know of any other kit line where you can have everything done to fit your specs. Cookie cutter bikes are not done at California Customs. All of their bikes come with an assigned VIN and MSO as a California Customs manufactured motorcycle. So while they are a licensed manufacturer they also operate and build bikes more like a custom one off shop.
Also in the past 18 years they have been featured in national magazines more than a dozen times. In 2007 their Gold Digger bike won the People’s Choice national trophy at the International Motorcycle Show Tour. This same bike was on the cover and featured in the November 2007 issue of Iron Works magazine. Most recently their Destiny bike is set to be a feature for American Iron magazine. They have also won numerous trophies at such shows as the Grand National Roadster show, Sacramento Autorama, Fresno Autorama, Hollister rally and numerous other events.
They are in the process of building a Bagger style bike to compete at Bonneville for the title of World’s Fastest Bagger. California Customs also has 2 new Bagger style models in the works. They were the first to offer a custom built Bagger style bike back in 1996.
Their next project is a retro style Bobber with a little racer styling thrown in. It will feature a dual carb, magneto fired 93 inch Pan/Shovel motor, kick start 6 speed from Baker and a load of custom one off parts made just for this project. This bike will be one bitchin’ Bobber.
Currently they are offering discounts on custom bikes to all active duty military, fire and police personnel. California Customs always is trying to keep it affordable for the working man to be able to own a truly custom built motorcycle and always support their military, fire and police clients.
In addition to custom bike building their shop offers a full service shop for American made motorcycles. They do custom paint, powdercoating, chrome, polishing, fabrication, performance work, custom parts and customizing of Harleys and other American brands.
