Doug Morton started the shop in Concord, NC in 1982. In 1993 Rodney Morton joined the shop after graduating from AMI in Daytona.  Rodney explained, “We started doing custom work on American V-twins and got into the metric bikes by request from customers. Soon we realized that there was little or no after market custom parts for the metric cruiser. So we began the M-tric parts line. We named it that because we were at a show and a guy was looking at our exhaust pipes on a Kawasaki and in a deep southern accent” he said, "ems trick". “So M-tric was born. It has now grown to include exhaust pipes, raked triple trees, lowering kits, lighting kits, performance parts and a variety of accessories for almost all metric cruisers”.

“Some of our accomplishments are Easyrider Magazine's Master Bike Builder in 1999, V-twin Magazine's Master Painter in 2005, and many feature bikes in magazines around the world. We are a full service shop that does everything from basic service to full on one off customs.”
