A Dream Come True
Text by Jack Lawford Photos by Bart Mitchell and Jack Lawford
Motorcycle enthusiasts from all over saw their dreams come to life at the 18th Annual Los Angeles Calendar Show. This is one of my favorite 2-day motorcycle and music events of the year. Held in the most beautiful setting.....the Queen Mary Event Park on the grass alongside the Pacific Ocean in Long Beach. The best of the best came out to give it their all and - WOW - the bikes there were incredible!
Bikers soaked up the sun and traveled the booth aisles entertained by products, handouts, consumer info, and onsite demos and more. Patriot Suspension had an incredible Plexiglas display where you could see their lowering springs in action. Metal Arts was showing off their great looking 139 decibel horns that will make sure to let people know you are there. As always, Stoney Straps were a huge hit, especially with their new tender fender. This is a must for those long road trips where you need to pack a lot of stuff and want to protect your fender or top of your hard bags.
One of the first things I wanted to see when I got to the show was AFT's new bike LowLA .... Jim and the girls didn't hold back this year and built one incredible metric. From the hidden radiator to the machined-in turn signals and all the other details on this bike were crazy! No wonder it won the first place metric custom.
The Roehr American made sport bike was another bike that really caught my eye This bike is powered by a special version Harley V-Rod engine that delivers 180 horses of American muscle! We will be bringing you more soon on this insane sport bike!
Overall attendance was respectable as the bikers and public turned out in droves to see the best of the best compete. We’ve got great pictures of it all so wander through our photo gallery and you’ll feel as if you were there.
