Presented by the Sunshine Chapter of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America, Vintage Japanese Motorcycle club and Coattail Productions, this year’s show proceeds benefitted the Dania Beach Dog Park Project.  At the 4th Annual Dania Beach Vintage Motorcycle Show, over 100 vintage bikes from Italy, Germany, England, Japan and even a rare “Nimbus” with a sidecar from Denmark were present, along with the odd modern bike or two.

Throughout the day, the Dania Beach Optimist Club had kid’s bicycle safety games and later in the afternoon, motorcycle field games were open to all bikes of all years. A precision motorcycle drill team, Independent Motorcycle Skill Team, showed off their skills to top off the entertainment.

Proceeds from raffle tickets for prizes donated by the sponsors and a 50/50 drawing went directly to buying equipment for the Dania Beach Dog Park to be located at Patrick J. Meli Park.

An added feature this year was the “People’s Choice” award, with the attendees voting for their favorite. At the awards ceremony over 50 plaques were awarded in such classes as most unique, oldest, best restored, longest ridden and best in show (last year’s winner was a 1911 Flying Merkel). Other bikes winning at the third annual show were a 1937 Indian Chief, 1949 Mondial, 1937 Ariel Square Four, and a 1957 Ducati.

Across the road, Russ G Events held the Dania MotorCar Expo at Jai Alai. A short walk and attendees were able to see classic cars.  BikerHotline friend Martin Twofeathers took in the show, caught up with old friends and snapped several fine pictures.

Martin sums up the show: “Triumph to Ducati, A.J.S., BMW, Metro, BSA ,Yamaha, Moto Guzzi, to Topper and Cushman. They all stood in line after line for inspection and maybe a new owner, all were well kept by their shine and all were cared for by the new tires on their wheels, this was a simple but great collection of Vintage motorcycles.........Why do we love these things so much?  Because it puts our spirit into adventure and the wind, if it gets better than this I for one can't wait!”
Thanks for the vintage show coverage Martin!
