Charlotte Easy Riders Show

Story and photos by David Owens

If you’ve ever been to an Easyriders bike show, you know what to expect: lots of bikes, babes, vendors, and music, with a celebrity thrown in here or there. Well the Charlotte show on January 25th did not disappoint. Despite cold temps, the show drew a solid crowd of bikers and other folks who just wanted to check out the scene.

The bikes entered in the Judged class (winner determined by a panel of bike builders, magazine editors, and other insiders) were rolling works of art. The entries in the People’s Choice class (winner picked by anyone at the show who wanted to vote) ranged from pro builds to garage builds, trailer queens to daily riders.

Based on the entries - and the number of folks checking out Paul Yaffe’s Bagger Nation tent - baggers are still in big demand. Speaking of big, giant front wheels were in abundance - 30 inch hoops were all over the place. Some of those wheels probably cost more than my entire bike.

There were long lines to meet Mark Boone - Bobby from Sons of Anarchy - and Mike and Angie from Full Throttle Saloon, and the vendors seemed to be doing pretty well too. Here are pics of some of the bikes in the show.
