Martell, CA ~ AFT Customs Girls, a division of AFT Customs, the 2005 and 2008 World Champion metric builder, recently announced that they are building a custom metric V-Twin. The motorcycle, under the guidance of AFT Custom’s Jim Giuffra, will be built by the models proving to the world that bike building is not just for men while increasing the models knowledge of motorcycles and the industry as a whole. Giuffra, the 2005 and 2008 World Champion metric builder, will be overseeing the project motorcycle referred to as “LowLa”.
“This bike will be built by all the models but it will be my daily ride when it is done,” said Sukhee, one of AFT Customs’ newest models. “Building the bike from the ground up will dramatically increase our knowledge of motorcycles which will help when working in this industry.”
The finished bike, LowLa, will be unveiled at the 2009 LA Calendar Motorcycle Show and then will continue onto Sturgis as AFT Customs’ 2009 entry, defending their World Champion title. The LA Calendar Show is held at the Queen Mary Event Park in Long Beach, California and is America's premier custom, cruiser, performance and sportbike weekend. The show boasts over 250 major motorcycle and parts manufacturers and features many of the World's top Pro and Amateur street bike builders. The 2008 show, where AFT Customs walked away with the Best in Show for their “Er-Hed” Yamaha V-Twin, had cash prizes for winners totaling $86,000. Attendees at the show will also take part in the 2-Day Calendar Girl Music Festival featuring women bands and FastDates.com Calendar Kittens with their annual FastDates.com Motorcycle Pin-Up Calendars. In addition, the 2009 LA Calendar Show’s date will not interfere with the Hollister Motorcycle Rally or the Laguna Seca Race ensuring a huge, successful turnout.
“This year AFT Customs took home the Best of Show award and we are looking forward having his team back,” said Jim Gianatsis, the producer of the LA Calendar Show. “Having the AFT Customs Girls’ bike unveiled at our show combines the best in models and bike building which is what our venue is all about.”
“The LowLa build will increase the models existing motorcycle knowledge extensively,” stated Jim Giuffra, the 2005 and 2008 World Champion metric builder and owner of AFT Customs. “Having models with a high level of motorcycle experience is key in this industry. Our models have a deep understanding of products and technology which has dramatically helped our clients increase their business.”
LowLa will be a based on a Honda VTX 1300 V-Twin and will incorporate pro-street styling. Sponsorships on the LowLa project include:
