TOPEKA, KS. (July 1, 2008) - Heartland Park Topeka is pleased to welcome volunteers of Aid to Injured Riders (AIR) to our July 4th Firecracker Extravaganza. HPT will be setting up their racing simulator and will be collecting donations from that to be given directly to AIR.
Aid to Injured Riders is a non-profit organization founded in 1999 to provide financial assistance to flat track racers injured in an American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) sanctioned race, whether it is on a national or regional level, as long as the injured rider is a member of AIR in good standing.
Many of the volunteers on the board are mothers, girlfriends, or sisters of the riders that travel to many different AMA events in the area collecting donations.
HPT will open its gates for the Topeka Harley-Davidson and BriggsAuto.com Firecracker Extravaganza featuring AMA GNC Flat Track Racing Series at 3 p.m. on Friday, July 4. Qualifying will begin at 4:30 p.m. and opening ceremonies are set for 7 p.m. Racing will immediately follow. The Expert Twins main event starts at 9 p.m. followed by the AMA main event at 9:15 p.m.
Following the races, American Medical Response presents the largest firework show in NE Kansas.
Tickets are available now and can be purchased at www.hpt.com, Topeka Harley-Davidson, and Ticketmaster.
