Big Dog Motorcycles® Celebrates
15th Anniversary With Commemorative Models
An exclusive graphics package and other special touches are available on the 2009 Bulldog, Wolf, Coyote, K-9, and Mastiff®
Big Dog Motorcycles®, the leading manufacturer of high performance, high style motorcycles, is celebrating 15 years in the industry by launching Anniversary editions of select 2009 motorcycles: the Bulldog, Wolf, Coyote, K-9 and Mastiff®, featuring an exclusive paint scheme and other design details.
The commemorative graphics package was unveiled on a 2009 Wolf at two of the industry’s largest trade shows: the 9th annual V-Twin Expo, held February 7-9 in Cincinnati, and the 2009 Dealer Expo, held a week later in Indianapolis.
As the leading manufacturer of premium motorcycles, Big Dog Motorcycles started in 1994 when Sheldon Coleman built the company’s first bike in his neighborhood garage near where the 150,000 square foot factory stands today. His motorcycle, Big Dog #1, established a tradition for amplified performance and fresh styling that has characterized the Big Dog Motorcycles brand ever since.
“How one bike has evolved into a company of this size, with this strength, with such talented employees, a dedicated dealer base, over 25,000 owners, and now – this year – the broadest and most appealing line in the history of our company, continues to amaze and impress me,” commented Coleman, company founder and CEO. “We could think of no better way to pay tribute to such a milestone than with highly limited edition models, allowing new owners to also take part in our celebration.”
The anniversary editions, available through 2009, are immediately recognizable due to an exclusive graphics package available only on the commemorative models.
Reflecting the anniversary year, a continuous rope of stylized 15s graces the tank sides and both fenders of the motorcycle, highlighting its sleek lines, and separating the elegant two-tone color scheme. The design is capped with a 15th Anniversary badge painted on every tank. Every bike within each model line is also individually numbered.
Like all of the company’s graphics, the anniversary editions are hand-painted, airbrushed, and pinstriped in its state-of-the-art paint shop.
The 15th Anniversary package extends to additional design cues.
Custom seats with the anniversary badge are standard on all models. Chrome hand controls and foot control levers – BDM Performance Products’ Vision design – are standard on the commemorative Wolf, K-9, and Mastiff. All-new Riviera chrome wheels by Performance Machine, featuring eight linear spokes for a simple, yet defined wheel, and chromed levers, speedometer housing and brake calipers complete the package on the K-9 and Mastiff.
Chrome upgrades are standard on all 2009 Wolf models.
“Developing the anniversary models required input from several departments: marketing, sales, manufacturing, and engineering,” described Doug Stuhlsatz, Vice President, Sales, Marketing, and Administration. “The end result adds additional excitement to an already remarkable line-up.”
