Senator Damon Thayer and Kenny LeeAuthor Kenny Lee Honored during a day of the 2009 Regular Session of the Kentucky General Assembly

Kenny Lee was almost killed in an April 2007 head on accident while riding his Harley.  During the lengthy recovery period, he penned the novel Thundering Hearts:  The Razor’s Edge as a way to still ride - even though it would only be in his mind at that point.  Also, he hoped that book sales might help cover the medical bills he incurred as the motorist who was at fault was underinsured and left him with a mounting pile of debt.  After it was published, he received numerous favorable reviews and came to the attention of his state’s government.  Following is the text of the citation he personally received from Senator Damon Thayer:

Citation“Know ye that Ken Parker is welcomed to the chamber of the Kentucky Senate to be honored during a day of the 2009 Regular Session of the Kentucky General Assembly and is offered sincere congratulations on having his first novel entitled "Thundering Hearts:The Razor's Edge" published by Publish America. Written under the pen name Kenny Lee, and with the tireless support of his beloved fiancee' Debbie Henry, this outstanding novel tells the story of Landon and Joan, motorcyclists from Northern Kentucky who are faced with threats and violence from an antagonist who is seeking to avenge the death of his brother. Inasmuch as Ken Parker, himself a motorcycle enthusiast, has demonstrated such tireless devotion to this endeavor, coupled with rare artistic skill and expertise, and as a result, has brought such great honor to his family, his community, and to this Commonwealth by this achievement, he is offered hearty congratulations upon this momentous occasion; is extended sincere best wishes for future success and good fortune; and, on the motion of Senator Damon Thayer is hereby deemed by this honorable body worthy of its recognition”

Despite his own surplus debt, Kenny is donating ten percent of all royalties to the Bikers for Babies campaign.   He is definitely a biker with a heart of gold.  To view excerpts from Kenny Lee’s book and read more about him, go to:
