Victory Motorcycles knows what it takes to keep baggers fans happy - big, bold bikes that look like the future and ride like the present. The new 2015 Victory Magnum offers both in spades. It’s got an oversized wheel (21-inch cast front wheel), hypercolor paint (Ness Midnight Cherry, Plasma Lime with Silver, and Metasheen Black or Red over Super Steel Gray), and the types of fun extras that make riding a bagger worth the extra money.
The bike iteself is big - 760 lobs, 104.3 inches long with a 26.3 inch seat height,65.7-inch wheelbase and 5.8 inch ground clearance. Rake and trail are similar to the Cross Country at 29.0° / 5.6 IN with a 5.8 gallon tank. Front suspension holds steady with a telescoping fork, and the rear is a single mono-tube cast aluminum. It rides a little lower than other baggers- that slammed rear end brings it down an inch, but it looks hella cool from the back.
The engine is Victory’s 4-stroke 50° V-Twin - powerful, and familiar, air and oil cooled with a wet, multi-plate clutch and EFI with a dual 45mm throttle body. Displacement is 106 cubic inches.
Mostly, this is a bagger for those with an eye towards style and comfort. A new high-performance audio system cranks out 100 watts of sound through 6 speakers. ABS and cruise control make riding long distances a pleasure, and stopping less of a heart-in-your-throat proposition.
By all accounts, the ride itself isn’t revolutionary, but the bike itself will make for happy travelers who can be confident in the performance of the bike itself.
