Last year, Pope Francis was given a Harley-Davidson motorcycle during H-D’s 110th anniversary celebration in Rome, Italy.
It’s not clear is the pope actually rode the motorcycle, but he autographed the tank and is selling the bike to raise funds for Caritas Roma, a charity working on behalf of the church.
The Harley-Davidson will be auctioned on February 6, 2014 at the Grand Palais in Paris as part of Bonham’s Les Grandes Marques du monde sale. It is estimated to be worth between $16,400 - $20,500 and the proceeds will go towards the renovation of the charity’s Don Luigi di Liegro hostel and soup kitchen.
